Spontaneous speech and the new GCSE speaking exam: Face to Face Teachmeet

This face-to-face teachmeet, led by Georgina Jackson, will be focus heavily on the GCSE Speaking exam. The session will include:
- A thorough overview of marking and moderating against assessment criteria.
- Sharing of CPD on how to prepare for the speaking exam.
- Consider how we can develop genuine spontaneous speech, with examples and emerging success stories shared by schools across the region.
This will be a fantastic occasion to speak with colleagues and practise these new skills.
This face-to-face event will be run three times to support as many teachers as possible to attend.
22nd October 2025 Session led by Grand Union Language Network at Tudor Grange School, B91 3PD between 13:00-16:00.
18th November 2025. Session led by the Trent and Tame Language Network at Arthur Terry School, B74 4RZ between 13.00 – 16.00.
3rd December 2025. Session led by Swanswell Language Network at Sydney Stringer Academy, CV1 5LY between 13:00-16:00
