Join the team from the Trent and Tame Language Network to reflect on the progress you and your team are making with spontaneous speech. During this virtual session, we’ll consider how we can use AI to support the students in our classroom to develop confidence and competence when speaking spontaneously.
Positioned after mock speaking exams, this session will give teachers ideas and sufficient time to introduce something tangible into lessons, homework or intervention plans to impact on the current year 11 cohort, taking their GCSE in summer 2026.

We will be looking into how specific school contexts choose to navigate the MFL curriculum and the impact each model has on student engagement, success and other logistical and financial impact on the school itself. This face-to-face teachmeet, focussed heavily on the GCSE Speaking exam. The session included:
- A thorough overview of marking and moderating against assessment criteria.
- Sharing of CPD on how to prepare for the speaking exam.
- Consideration into how we can develop genuine spontaneous speech, with examples and emerging success stories shared by schools across the region.
