Positioned after mock speaking exams, this session will give teachers ideas and sufficient time to introduce something tangible into lessons, homework or intervention plans to impact on the current year 11 cohort, taking their GCSE in summer 2026.

This face-to-face teachmeet, focussed heavily on the GCSE Speaking exam. The session included:

  • A thorough overview of marking and moderating against assessment criteria.
  • Sharing of CPD on how to prepare for the speaking exam.
  • Consideration into how we can develop genuine spontaneous speech, with examples and emerging success stories shared by schools across the region.
